About

The creator and curator: Ely Wananda

Thanks for landing at Mindfulblackdad.com. My name is Ely Wananda and I’ve been a content creator since before the term existing, creating my first YouTube channel way back in 2007. Since that time, I’ve become a father and a husband and I’ve learned just how mind-boggling the whole experience can be. I have a teacher’s heart so I created mindfulblackdad.com in order to share the things I’m learning on my parenting journey. The best way to navigate this site is by using the menu – on a desktop, click on the menus at the top, on a mobile, click on the three horizontal lines.

Browse the Educational Resources

  • Click on the Mathematical Resources page to find a growing list of recommended maths ideas and tools. I’ve spent so much time searching the depths of the Web to find useful resources and ideas to help my children’s educational journey. So I’m gradually compiling the best ones here. Currently (as of summer 2026) most of the resources I have relate to mathematics. This is because I’ve realised just how important maths is to the future wellbeing and success of children. Read my Articles

  • I’ve written lots of articles on a range of categories. The way I see it, the educational resources give you the practical tools to use, while my articles breakdown the principles and ideas which guide how I use the educational resources. You can find these by clicking on the “Articles” menu or by clicking here.

Check out my YouTube Channel

  • I have a YouTube channel where I share my ideas on a range of socioeconomic topics. These mostly pertaining to Black people in the UK but the subjects I discuss are universal in nature.
